I draw from a combination of the following modalities based on your specific need and goals:
Deep Tissue & Medical Massage
Accelerate recovery and improve long-term mobility, tissue health, and resistance to re-injury. Treatment-oriented massage is extremely effective in promoting efficient and sound recovery from muscular injuries, chronic pain, and related conditions. My approach is integrative and based on clinically effective techniques, including Neuromuscular and Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Massage, Active Isolated Stretching, skin rolling, and Muscle Energy Techniques.
Intra-oral massage is highly effective in treating TMJ disorder, headaches, migraines, and discomfort associated with teeth grinding. Muscles both inside the mouth and around the jaw and temporal area are treated to provide maximum relief.
Allow your mind and body to quiet, unwind, and drop into a parasympathetic state with a nurturing session of mindful body therapy. I offer a rhythmic, soothing blend of multiple modalities including Shiatsu, Hawaiian Lomi Lomi, Accupressure, and Swedish massage.
Massage cupping offers many of the benefits of deep tissue work with significantly less residual soreness that often results from deeper pressure. By creating suction and negative pressure, massage cupping is used to soften tight muscles and scar tissue, loosen adhesions and lift connective tissue, bring hydration and blood flow to body tissues, and drain excess fluids and toxins by opening lymphatic pathways. It can be both relaxing and stimulating depending on the issue being treated.
This modality can leave red marks or “cup kisses” on the skin that may last for several days. These marks are not bruises, but rather normal discoloration due to toxins and old blood being brought to the surface of the skin. Massage cupping can be very soothing and works well in combination with other treatment-oriented modalities.
A subtle yet highly effective form of body therapy, Craniosacral therapy utilizes an important indicator of harmony or lack thereof within the entire being: the Craniosacral rhythm. This rhythm, or primary respiration, is caused by the pressure changes throughout the head and spinal column during the production and absorption of cerebrospinal fluid. Through safe, gentle manipulation, restrictions are explicitly addressed not only in skeletal alignment and the flow of cerebral spinal fluid, but in muscle and connective tissue as well.
This multifaceted approach works to unwind long-held restrictions from physical, mental, and emotional traumas, often leading to a greater sense of ease and wellbeing in body and mind. Additionally, Craniosacral Therapy has been shown effective in treating a multitude of conditions including migraines, chronic fatigue, anxiety, PTSD, and musculoskeletal pain.
Massage during pregnancy offers many benefits including hormone regulation, improved labor outcomes, reduction of swelling, and relief from the inevitable aches and pains that come with changing physical strain on muscles, tendons, and ligaments. The effects of deep relaxation are far-reaching for both mother and baby. With supportive pregnancy bolsters, mothers are able to lie face-down to enjoy the nourishing experience of a traditional full body massage.
Choose from a complimentary array of both grounding and energizing organic essential oils to be integrated into any session.
